Canada 150 Projects
Both the L.R.C. and the Township of Leeds and Thousand Islands were actively involved in major initiatives for Canada's 150th Birthday . The Township at the suggestion of LRC member Susan Magalas, took on a "paint your own paddle" initiative and this had amazing success as it embraced so many residents. The LRC had its own initiative which was a "Canada 150 Quilt", displaying those qualities that make up the history of the Township. Both a quilt and barn board depicted the historic theme.
The Paddle Display was a huge hit for the Township Residents

Just recently a ceremony was held in which a commemorative plaque was placed mounted on the house. visiting tourists continue to want to get their picture taken in front of this innovative display.
